How Rosie got her WOW back

Finding myself in my 30s and lacking confidence after a difficult few years, I took the decision to get a bike. This was largely due to wanting more outdoor time, the chance to escape, commute and learn new skills.
Having not cycled since my 20s, I used to get panic attacks even looking at my new bike. I knew things had to change, and luckily found Women on Wheels.
The team quickly identified my individual needs (bike handling, mental training and manouvres) and over the 2 months we’ve had together, I have learned to love not only my bike, but myself a little bit more.
Working with Pippa has opened my eyes that maybe things are possible- her patient guidance, skilled leadership and empathetic approach have helped me try things I never thought I could.
Sometimes in life becoming the women we want to be means allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, forget our prior beliefs and learn to play again.
As a GP, the importance of exercise and a healthy commute have also been developed and will be hugely helpful to promoting in my workplace.
I’m looking forward to working more with the team for group rides, bike maintenance and hopefully being able to teach the skills I’ve learned in coming years.
Thank you for giving me my WOW back!
