Summer Holidays Programme

This summer join some fun cycling sessions for kids and teen girls. Unlike our Families Cycling Sessions these sessions are for kids and young people only. Learning alongside your kids and doing activities together is amazing, but we also recognise how valuable it is to have a little bit of time on your own - all with the comfort of knowing your kids and teen girls are learning and having the best time.

Each session is £5 per child/young person. You can book one or more sessions.

The programme is suitable for kids/young people of all cycling abilities from being completely brand new to cycling or confident cyclists looking to connect with likeminded peers.

The sessions are bookable by age group:
🚲 Ages 6–8
🚲 Ages 9–11
🚲 Teen girls aged 12–16

Cycle Touring Events

Cycle touring, also known as bicycle touring or bike touring, is a form of self supported travel that involves exploring various destinations using a bike and your own pedal power. Our Cycle Touring programme is designed to inspire and give you the skills to give it a go. Check out our current events below:

Advanced Cycle Tour - Balloch to Kingussie

Our most EPIC cycle tour to date - we are cycling from Balloch, Loch Lomond to Kingussie in Cairngorms National Park. It’s a whopping 136 miles over 3 days (30-50 miles per day) and an AWESOME adventure not to be missed!

The tour starts with a train from Glasgow to Balloch. From there we will cycle to Callander and stay at Callander Bunkhouse. This first leg is 30 miles.

The following morning we will get up early and cycle from Callander to Tummel Bridge. In Tummel Bridge we will wild camp for the night. The route is roughly 50 miles.

The final day we will cycle to Kingussie from where we will get a train back to Glasgow. The final leg is approximately 50 miles.

The route takes in some AMAZING scenery along lochs with stunning mountain views. It’s one of those tours that will leave a lasting memory.

This tour is suitable for anyone who has done a cycle tour before but would like the challenge of doing multi-days cycling and wild camping.

The tour is pay what you can £220-250. We know it’s not cheap, but that’s the cost of running the tour. Train tickets, accommodation, equipment loan, ride leaders and breakfasts are all included in the price.

If you have any questions about the tour please email Mollie on women@womenonwheels.org.uk.
